Admin can add featured products to the Customer front page and to all category and subcategory pages. Featured products list will be shown to the customers as they browse categories and subcategories.
Click on Categories in the Management menu. 'Categories Management' section will be opened.
In the 'Categories management' form browse to the location where you want your featured products to be displayed. (Click on the name of a category to get a list of its subcategories. The name of the current category will be displayed above the categories list in the 'Categories management' form. You can use the navigation bar at the top of the 'Categories management' form to move between the levels of your category tree).
Scroll down to the 'Featured products' form.

Click on Browse, the 'Select product' window will appear.
Select a category and click on Show products. All the products of the selected category will be listed on the right.
Choose a product from the list and click on Select. (You can bookmark several products to add them later).
If necessary, enter the position number for the new featured product. If you leave the position field blank, X-Cart will place the new product in the end of the featured products list.
Unselect the 'Active' check box next to the product being added if you do not want the new product to appear in the featured products list on the storefront immediately. It will be disabled.
Click on Add new.
Repeat steps 4-10 to add more featured products.
If you want to remove a featured product, select the check box next
to the product you want to be removed from the featured products list
and click
on Delete selected.
Use Check all / Uncheck
all links to select or unselect all the products.
If you want to disable a featured product temporarily, unselect the corresponding
check box in the ACTIVE column and click on Update.
If you want to change the order in which the products should be displayed in the list, enter the new position numbers and click on Update.
Note.
If you delete or temporarily disable a product in the featured products
list, it will not be deleted or disabled in its main and additional categories
and customers will still be able to order it.
If the main category of a product from the featured products list is disabled,
the product is still displayed in the featured products list and customers
can view its details page by clicking on the 'See details' link.
